Hello again,
Lena and I have recently been in Spain for two weeks
and I really miss those warm mornings with everything bathing in sunlight. Here in Stockholm it seems right now in november that everything's bathing in darkness, even if it's warmer than usually. Last year I remember it was snowstorm this time of year.
I have asked myself so many times: Why do I go on living in such i cold and at winter so dark country like Sweden?
But I must admit, I think I have written most of my songs (at least the good ones) during these winternights. When I've gone to Provence, Italy or Spain for holyday, I've always brought a synth and a laptop for some music writing in the sun!
Guess how many songs I use to write during these vacations?
No one ever!!!
I guess I need these dark days and cold nights to create. And I'm sure it's the same with ABBA, Roxette, Europe, AHA (they are from Norway but that makes no difference) or what so ever! We have all been freezing when we were writing our music.
If you listen, I'm sure you can hear it!
All the best
Tim

If it's this cold dark climate that makes you write those wonderful songs then please stick to Sweden :)
You often hear that it may be so that you write the most or best lyrics in the wintertime, darkness, lonelyness or sadness. Good to hear you affirm that! I wrote my most and best lyrics when I was sad I strongly guess.
Oh, I guess you meaned the music not the lyrics. But it's the same with both I think.
Yeah, right ! Abba and A-ha will be my favorites forever. There's something in their songs you'll never find somewhere else !
