ANSWER ON QUESTIONS ON FAN SITE

Today my blog will be about a question we got on the fan Zone here. The question was why I only have written one song recorded by Secret Service so far – “Fire Into Ice”.

Well, there are a couple of simple reasons to that. At an early stage of the band´s career we decided that Tim’s part would be songwriter in the first place and I was keyboard player – producer. Tim´s way of writing songs also set the mold to the sound of the band and as he was very productive, I never saw a reason to compete in that. Another thing is that the songs I write are in a different mood, usually not suitable for Secret Service. But when we started up the recording session for the third album, “Cutting Corners”, Tim had a sudden break in the flow of songs. Ola asked me then if I had anything that we could record and just by luck I had completed writing “Fire Into Ice”, a song that originally was written for another artist that I produced at the time. So we went into the studio and started to record it with Secret Service, and the result went out well. Ola suggested it to be next single. Afterwards Tim told me that this really trigged him to get started writing a big hit and he went home and wrote “Flash In The Night”, luckily for us!    

But as a songwriter I have been blessed with a number one hit in Sweden, “Som Stormen River Öppet Hav”, and a lot of lower chart positions with songs I wrote for other artists in my profession as a producer.
